I also put Rain-X on all my car windows and outside mirrors, and enjoyed the results enough that I'm really kicking myself for not having found time to do it again. (This is getting frustrating.) The Rain-X Latitude blades come in all three sizes I need, and as soon as I find a store with all three in stock, I'll buy them. I see that SilBlade now has a similar "one-piece frame" blade, but they don't come in the 21" length I need for the driver's side. I saw the Bosch Icon blades, but they don't come in the 16" length I need for my rear window. (To be fair, I know someone who had the same reaction to summer SilBlades). Perhaps I should have given them more time to break in, but I didn't want to wait. As far as I could tell, they last forever because they're too hard & stiff to actually follow glass closely enough to wipe water away. I tried Triple Edge blades many years ago. I can forgive the missing inch in winter, though. I'd use SilBlades in summer too if only they came in a 21" size I need. I guess I'm hyper-sensitive to windshield wipers and their failures. But I *CAN* say I've had them for two (three?) winters now and I'm still happy with them, which says a lot because I can almost never keep a set of rubber wipers beyond four months because they start to streak and drive me crazy. I can't say they last five years (as their maker claims) because I haven't had them that long, and I also only use them in winter. I just took off my SilBlade silicone winter blades.

They had begun to show signs of wearing out after about 20 months (including two full winter seasons) and then I cleaned them with vinegar and my wife said they were working good again. We are approaching two years with the Icons on the Jetta and they still seem to be working good. Now I have a new Mazda and before next winter, I will definitely switch the crappy conventional blades for a set of Icons (or perhaps I'll try this new rainx version.

After having them on that car for about a year, I decided to upgrade our old Windstar to them. Discovered these in 2005 because my wife's new Jetta came with them.

These Icon blades just work so much better all year around, I'll gladly pay the $30-40 cost for a set of them. Also they do not have the "spoiler" like Icons (and RainX apparently) so may not work as well at higher speeds. We will see how they hold up, have only had them for 6 months or so.

My kid bought some of the somewhat similar (but cheaper) innovision blades, but these seemed kind of flimsy compared to the Icons. Is it possible Bosh is making these RainX blades? I don't know if the quality is as good as Bosch's, but after having had the Icons I will never go back to conventional blades. These RainX blades look very similar to Bosch Icons.
